Much of V‑IZ is free. Only Premium and the Video course, which you book for a single level (A1, A2 or B1), are chargeable. Both are available as a subscription, which is automatically renewed, or as a one-off purchase for 12 months. What exactly is included and how much it costs can be found in our Conditions of Purchase.
Everything with us is digital. The video course includes two volumes "Schritte plus Neu", and you will receive them as digital activation codes via email immediately after purchase. The codes are only tied to your Hueber account after they have been redeemed.
Briefly summarized:
- Course access and Premium: You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date the contract is concluded. If you withdraw during this period, we refund the full amount paid for that part. We do not make any deduction for the time during which you have already used the service.
- The two book codes: Once we have delivered them to you, the right of withdrawal for those codes expires and their value is not refundable. You retain the codes and any Hueber licences redeemed from them; the amount of 46,00 € is not refunded. See Section 2 for details.
- After 14 days: There are no more refunds. However, you can cancel a current subscription at any time. Your access will then remain until the end of the period for which you have already paid.

1. Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the date the contract is concluded. This applies to everything you buy from us because we provide digital products and services only. There is no period beginning “on receipt of the goods” because we do not ship physical goods.

of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example, a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but this is not mandatory.
The easiest way to withdraw is through our withdrawal button under Section 356a BGB: v-iz.de/app/widerruf-ausueben. We will confirm receipt of your withdrawal in text form, for example by email.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your notice of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.
2. Exception for digital book codes
The two activation codes for “Schritte plus Neu” are digital content. A statutory exception to the right of withdrawal applies to them.
Before you select “Proceed to checkout”, you must tick a box. By doing so, you make two declarations:
- You expressly request that we begin performance immediately and send you the codes before the withdrawal period expires.
- You acknowledge that your right of withdrawal for the codes expires as a result.
The box is not preselected, and the purchase button remains disabled until you tick it. After purchase, we confirm this declaration again in the order confirmation email (Section 312f BGB). Your right of withdrawal for the codes expires only when all three requirements are met (Section 356(5) BGB).
Important: The right of withdrawal for a code expires as soon as we provide it by email. The corresponding licence is linked to your Hueber account only after you redeem the code.
If you withdraw afterwards, you retain the codes already delivered and any Hueber licences redeemed from them. Each volume costs 23,00 € and each level contains two volumes, for a total of 46,00 €. This amount is not refunded; we refund the remainder.
What that means in numbers:
- One-time purchase (195,99 €): You will get the 149,99 € back for the course. You keep the codes and the Hueber licenses redeemed from them; the 46,00 € for this will not be refunded.
- Subscription: On the first day you pay 49,99 €, which includes 46,00 € for the codes and 3,99 € for the first month of course access. If you withdraw within 14 days, we refund the 3,99 €. You keep the codes and any Hueber licences redeemed from them; the 46,00 € is not refunded. The subscription ends and no further payments are collected.
There are no book codes for Premium. If you withdraw from a Premium contract within 14 days, we refund the full amount.
3. Consequences of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on which we receive notice of your withdrawal. We will use the same payment method that you used for the original transaction unless we have expressly agreed otherwise with you. You will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
Because we don't ship anything, there are no delivery costs to be reimbursed and you don't have to send anything back to us. You don't need a return address.
The only exception to the repayment is the digital book codes that we have already delivered to you (see section 2).
Voluntary 14-day refund of the video course: no deduction for the time used
The following is not a statutory entitlement but a voluntary commitment from us. It is in addition to your statutory right of withdrawal and does not restrict it in any way.
According to the law, we are allowed to withhold a proportionate amount for the time in which you have already used the course or Premium (§ 357a Paragraph 2 BGB). We voluntarily waive this. We will refund you 100% of the course portion within 14 days. It doesn't matter how many lessons you've seen or how many AI exercises you've done.
What happens after withdrawal
Once you withdraw from the contract, your paid access ends. Any current subscription is terminated and no further payments are collected. You retain book codes already delivered and any Hueber licences redeemed from them. You can continue to use the free part of V‑IZ.
4. After 14 days: cancellation instead of refund
After the 14-day period, we no longer issue refunds. You may, however, cancel your subscription at any time.
- The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period that you have already paid for.
- Until then, you retain full access.
- After that nothing will be extended and nothing will be debited.
To cancel, use our cancellation button under Section 312k BGB: v-iz.de/app/kuendigen. We will confirm the cancellation in text form, for example by email.
A One-time purchase for 12 months does not renew itself. It ends automatically, you don't have to cancel anything.
You can cancel subscriptions that you have taken out in the mobile app via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store directly in your account settings. We technically don’t have access to this.
5. Business customers
This withdrawal policy applies to consumers. If a company or organization books German courses for its employees, there is no statutory right of withdrawal; in that case, the terms of the relevant offer apply.
6. Consumer arbitration
Our email address is: info@v-iz.de. We are not willing or obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
