With V‑IZ you purchase a level (A1, A2 or B1) once at a fixed price of 149.99 € (incl. VAT) or the complete package with all three levels at a fixed price of 399,99 € (incl. VAT). This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: you receive 12 months of access to the video course; afterwards your access ends automatically. There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. The price also includes the two Hueber companion books ("Schritte plus Neu", course book + workbook), either printed by DHL (EU-wide, plus a 4.99 € flat shipping fee) or digitally as Hueber activation codes by e-mail (worldwide). Different statutory rights apply to the individual components of the service:
- Video course (digital content): The right of withdrawal expires once you have requested that performance begin immediately (§ 356 para. 5 BGB). For details, see Clause 2.
- Companion book (printed): 14-day statutory right of withdrawal from receipt of the goods (§ 312g BGB).
- Hueber activation code (digital): The right of withdrawal expires once the code is redeemed on hueber.edupool.de. For details, see Clause 2.
- Voluntary return policy (beyond what the law requires): A goodwill arrangement offering a 7-day return (printed) or a refund less a 46 € book fee (digital). For details, see Clause 6.

1. RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is fourteen days
- for the digital content (video course / account access): from the day the contract is concluded;
- for the additionally delivered physical goods (printed companion books): from the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods (in the case of partial deliveries, the last partial shipment; in the case of multiple goods, the last item).

by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an e-mail) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use the attached model withdrawal form for this purpose, but it is not mandatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient that you send the notification of the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
2. EARLY EXPIRY OF THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL (DIGITAL CONTENT)
2.1 Video course (digital content): § 356 para. 5 BGB
The video course and the associated account access constitute, in legal terms, digital content that is provided to you not on a physical data carrier but as immediate online access. Your right of withdrawal expires if
- you have expressly consented to us beginning to perform the contract before the withdrawal period has expired, and
- you have confirmed your awareness that, by giving your consent, you lose your right of withdrawal once performance of the contract begins,
and we have begun to perform the contract (§ 356 para. 5 BGB).
How this works at V‑IZ:
- Purchase in the shop: You complete the purchase (149,99 € one-time, 12 months of access) and then receive a redemption code (voucher) by e-mail. The purchase alone does not yet unlock the video course and does not yet start performance.
- Mandatory checkbox when redeeming the code: You redeem the code in the V‑IZ app (app.v-iz.de/gutschein). Before the course is unlocked, you tick a box that is not pre-filled, by which you (a) expressly request that we unlock the video course immediately (start of performance before the withdrawal period has expired) and (b) confirm that your right of withdrawal for the video course thereby expires. Your access is only unlocked after this checkbox is ticked. We subsequently confirm this declaration to you by e-mail (§ 312f BGB).
- Immediate activation: Immediately after redeeming the code with the box ticked, we unlock your access. This starts performance, and your right of withdrawal for the video course expires.
Note: If you wish to keep your right of withdrawal for the video course, do not redeem the code, or do not tick the box when redeeming it – your access will then be unlocked only after the 14-day withdrawal period has expired.
2.2 Hueber activation codes (digital)
If you have chosen the digital book variant, your right of withdrawal for the Hueber activation codes expires as soon as you have redeemed them on hueber.edupool.de in your Hueber account. At the time of purchase, you expressly give this prior consent. As long as no redemption has taken place, you may withdraw within 14 days and receive a refund.
3. CONSEQUENCES OF WITHDRAWAL
If you effectively withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse you all payments we have received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the additional costs resulting from your choosing a type of delivery other than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which we receive the notification of your withdrawal from this contract. For this reimbursement, we use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless something else has been expressly agreed with you; in no case will you be charged any fees for this reimbursement.
Video course: If your right of withdrawal for the video course has already expired under Clause 2.1 (box ticked + access unlocked), there is no longer any claim to a refund in this respect. Unlike with a digital service, for digital content no pro-rata value compensation is provided for after expiry – the right of withdrawal has expired in full.
Return of the printed companion books
The companion books are price-controlled textbooks (Hueber Verlag, "Schritte plus Neu") that are part of the delivery and are shown at the legally fixed retail price. Should you withdraw from the contract, you are obliged to return any physical goods received to us without undue delay and in any case at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which you informed us of your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the end of the fourteen-day period. You bear the direct costs of the return.

You only have to pay for any loss in value of the goods if this loss in value is due to handling of the goods that is not necessary for examining their nature, properties and functioning. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided proof that you have sent the goods, whichever is the earlier. For purely digital orders without a physical component, this condition does not apply.
4. NO SUBSCRIPTION – NOTHING TO CANCEL
Your purchase is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no automatic renewal and no recurring charge. After 12 months your access ends automatically; you do not need to cancel anything and nothing further is charged. If you would like further access or another level afterwards (e.g. A2 after A1), you purchase it separately at the price then in effect. The Hueber books you have already received, or the Hueber codes you have redeemed, remain permanently your property or under your licence.
5. CONSUMER ARBITRATION
Our e-mail address is: info@v-iz.de. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
6. VOLUNTARY RETURN POLICY (GOODWILL – BEYOND THE STATUTORY MINIMUM)
We grant this return policy voluntarily. It exists in addition to and independently of your statutory right of withdrawal (Clauses 1–3) and does not restrict it in any way. Even if your statutory right of withdrawal for the video course has already expired under Clause 2, you may make use of this voluntary goodwill arrangement.
6.1 Printed variant – 7 days, full refund
If you have chosen the printed books, you may withdraw within 7 days of receiving the books without giving any reason. You send the books back to our returns address; once they arrive, we refund you the full purchase price of 149.99 €. The condition is that the books are returned. For the complete package (399,99 €), we refund the full purchase price of 399,99 € after all six books have been returned.
6.2 Digital variant – refund less a 46 € book fee
If you have chosen the digital book variant, we refund you the purchase price less a book fee of 46.00 € (refund therefore 103.99 €). Background: the digital Hueber activation codes are account-bound and can no longer be returned once provided; the 46.00 € corresponds to the legally fixed retail price of the two Hueber volumes. For the complete package (399,99 €), the book fee is a flat 138,00 € (refund therefore 261,99 €), corresponding to the fixed retail price of the six Hueber volumes across all three levels.
6.3 How to proceed: Send an e-mail to info@v-iz.de. We will confirm receipt and usually process the return within 3–5 business days. The refund is made via the original means of payment.
